Discussion At the June 13 meeting of the Legislative Subcommittee, the Subcommittee requested that staff place an item on a future agenda to discuss potential topics and guest presenters to schedule on future Legislative Subcommittee meeting agendas. Staff have developed the following list of potential topics and presenters to serve as a starting point for Subcommittee discussion and feedback: 1. CA Energy Commission (CEC) /CA Independent System Operator (CAISO) /California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) a. Maintaining grid reliability in transition to renewable energy, electric vehicles and building electrification 2. CA Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) / CA State Parks a. Lagoon dredging/restoration & beach sand replenishment strategies 3. CA Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) a. State Housing Strategy 4. CA Department of Transportation (Caltrans) 5. Federal Aviation Administration 6. League of CA Cities (CalCities) 7. National League of Cities (NLC) 8. CA Assemblymember Tasha Boerner -Assembly District 77 9. CA Senator Catherine Blakespear -Senate District 38 10. U.S. Congressman Mike Levin -CA 49 a. Spent Fuel Prioritization Act b. Protecting local control over zoning and land use decisions Subcommittee members are asked to identify the topics and presenters noted above, as well as any others that may be of interest, to schedule on future Legislative Subcommittee meeting agendas. Next Steps Based upon Subcommittee feedback, staff will endeavor to schedule guest presenters to address the Subcommittee on matters of interest. Public Notification Public notice of this item was posted in keeping with the Ralph M. Brown Act and was available for public viewing and review at least 72 hours before the scheduled meeting date.
