RE: SurgiPet Sign Permit – ID Constraints
Dear Teodora,
Per your request, this letter is to provide a statement of significant identification restraints for the
proposed monument sign on the property located at 655 Laguna Drive. As a medical facility for animals,
it is important for them to have visibility for clients bringing their pets in for treatment. The building is
set back from the street well beyond all other properties in the neighborhood with their parking lot in
front.
Since the building has a roof that slopes forward, the only room for a sign on the building is on the fascia
just below the roofline, since no signs are allowed to project above the roofline and the bottom of the
fascia is at the minimum height clearance of 8 feet, no hanging sign panel would be allowed. This limits
the size of the building sign, which also has limited visibility being set back from the street. This
specifically limits visibility from the west approach due to the neighboring home being very close to the
street with an additional large hedge that obstructs the view of the building sign until after a passing car
is beyond the parking lot driveway entrance. (See image attached).
As such, the addition of the proposed monument sign near the entrance to the lot will allow their
customers to see their business before they drive past the property. I appreciate your consideration for
