In response, Shoring Design Group (SDG) offers the following responses: Response to "Redline" Comments Sheet SH3 Drawing Redlines: Please see "existing residence" text on neighboring structure as requested. Title-block drawing initials have been omitted from the drawings, typical. Sheet SH4 Drawing Redlines: Please see updated text regarding the portion of cmu wall to be removed from the public right of way. Also, please see the right-of-way line now shown in the profile view as requested. Please see the updated text regarding the existing sewer lateral. Please see the updated shoring profile which now shows the portion of the existing fence, on top of the existing cmu wall as requested. Please see the updated plan view text, calling out the proposed subterranean retaining walls by others, typical. Based on site conditions & job site visits, the approximate elevation of the existing garage slab on grade is 42.00' +1-. The slab will be removed prior to commencement of drilling & is not shown in profile to avoid confusion in the field. Continued on Next Page Sheet SH4 Drawing Redlines (Continued): The depth of the existing wall footing is not currently known & will be determined in the field prior to drilling. The depth is expected to be 18"-24" below existing grade & will not exceed design thresholds if variations are determined in the field. The lagging diagonals, at the daylighted ends, have been revised to limit the depth of excavation to 5'-0" reducing the soil exposure during lagging installation. The increase in shored depth at beams 1 & 8 (BOW=37.00') is included in the shoring calculations (see page 3 H=5' + 3' shim) and has been updated to the beam schedule on sheet 5 of the drawings. Note, it is also expected that soil arching & bedrock densities, will permit lagging installation without any difficulties. Please see the updated shoring profile which now includes the vertical dimension to the toe of the lagging boards at beams #2 & 7 (3'-0"). Sheet SH5 Drawing Redlines: Please see updated detail 1/SH5,that now shows the dimensions of the footing trench below the proposed pad elevation. Please see response to item #6 above. The depth of excavation for the lagging board diagonal has been reduced & will not require any additional measures for installation. Should you have any additional questions or comments regarding this matter, please advise. Sincerely, SHORING DESIGN GROUP, ,oFESSi3 C 80503 4Exp. 3/31/19 ) C10- F CA Roy P. Reed, P.E.
