Permeable pavement may be either porous asphalt, pervious concrete, or permeable concrete payers. We recommend concrete payers be placed over a minimum 2" sand bedding layer, over a 6" to 9" minimum of rock bedding. This structural section should be placed over 12" of minimum compacted subgrade to 95% relative compaction. Due to the slope of the proposed permeable pavement driveway, the suhgrade to receive the structural section should be benched with equal steps every 10 feet. The steps should be 8" maximum in height. The 10-foot section should include cutoff walls. Fill areas shall follow the fill material and compaction provisions of this report. Expansive Soil Mitigation Due to encountering a layer of clayey expansive soils in boring B-i in the middle of the lot, there is the potential of encountering expansive soils in other areas of the lot. The field inspections that are to be done during the grading work will attempt to make sure that no expansive soil is in the area below the proposed structure or permeable pavement. In the event expansive soils are encountered the following steps could be taken in no particular order: Removal of expansive soil if a small layer is encountered and replacement with non-expansive soil. Treatment/Stabilization of expansive soils with time or other chemicals admixtures. Add a reinforced geogrid below the area of the fill for the driveway. Removal of the upper expansive layer and backfill with 10 to 12" of 1/4"to 1" gravel. P.O.
