Executive Summary The Carlsbad Municipal Code (CMC) established a Housing Commission to advise the City Council on housing related matters. CMC Chapter 2.40 states the Housing Commission shall meet regularly, on days and times established by the commission for the transaction of business. The Housing Commission is being asked to set the 2024 regular meeting schedule and amend the 2023 meeting schedule. Discussion The Housing Commission establishes its regular meeting schedule annually by Resolution. The Housing Commission is being asked to set the 2024 regular meeting schedule and amend the 2023 meeting schedule for the remaining two months. Based on consensus of the Housing Commission, staff recommends the Housing Commission set the 2024 meeting schedule for the following Thursdays at 5:00 p.m.: Jan. 11, 2024 Feb. 8, 2024 March 14, 2024 April 11, 2024 May 9, 2024 July 11, 2024 Oct. 10, 2024 Nov. 14, 2024 Dec. 12, 2024 In addition to the above regular meetings, special meetings of the Housing Commission can be called as necessary. The 2023 meeting schedule will be amended to reflect the new meeting time for the remaining two months of the year, plus one additional regular meeting. Environmental Evaluation Pursuant to Public Resources Code Section 21065, this action does not constitute a “project” within the meaning of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) in that it has no potential to cause either a direct physical change in the environment, or a reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment, and therefore does not require environmental review. Public Notification and Outreach Public notice of this item was posted in keeping with the state’s Ralph M. Brown Act and it was available for public viewing and review at least 72 hours before the scheduled meeting date.
