Re: City of Carlsbad Award Recognition (Districts -All)
This memorandum provides information about recent recognition received by the City of
Carlsbad for its communication and engagement efforts.
Background
The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) is the leading professional organization for the
communication field. The San Diego and Imperial Counties Chapter recognizes outstanding work
in the region through its annual awards program. This year's entries were judged by South
Carolina Chapter of PRSA and awarded on October 26, 2023.
Discussion
The City of Carlsbad won seven awards this year, more than any other public agency organization
in the region and the second highest number of awards overall. Unlike other recent awards
specific to government communication, the City of Carlsbad competed against entries in the
government, nonprofit and corporate sectors for these awards.
