P Kelly Ranch Preschool Review Comments. Page 2 Review Comments Kelly Ranch Preschool, 5150 Hemingway Drive, Carlsbad, CA Test hydrant location is not verified on sheet 1, however it is most likely the hydrant adjacent to reference point U3, south of the building. No revision or resubmittal required. General note 43 should be revised on future submittals to reflect that only lateral sway bracing may be eliminated if hanger rods are not in excess of 6" long. No revision or resubmittal required. General note #11 should be revised on future submittals as NFPA-13, Section A-5-13.6.2 suggests that it is acceptable for a flow switch to accomplish the required shut activation. No revision or resubmittal required. It appears there is a door breaking the laundry room into two segments. If so an additional head should be added. This can be field verified. No revision or resubmittal required. West Coast Fire Protection 271 Roymar Rd. Ste. F, Oceanside, CA 92054 Tel. (760) 754-8472 - Fax. This sprin- kler is available in various temperature ratings (see chart on page 2) and fin- ishes to meet many design requirements. The recessed pendent should be utilized with a Model V27 recessed escutcheon which pro- vides up to V4' (19 mm) of adjustments. Sprinkler Operation The operating mechanism is a frangible glass bulb which contains a heat responsive liquid. During a fire, the ambient tempera- ture rises causing the liquid in the bulb to expand. When the ambient temper- ature reaches the rated temperature of the sprin- kler, the bulb shatters. As a result, the waterway is cleared of all sealing parts and water is discharged towards the deflector. The deflector is designed to dis- tribute the water in a pat- tern that is most effective in controlling the fire. Coverage For coverage area and sprinkler placement, refer to NFPA 13 standards.
