This provides sprinkler operation approxi- mately six times faster than ordinary sprinklers. While the Quick f ( \ Response Sprinkler provides an aesthetically pleasing appearance, it can be installed wherever standard spray sprinklers are specified but offers the additional feature of greatly increased safety to life. The heart of Globe's GL Series sprinkler proven actuating assembly QUICK RESPONSE is a hermetically sealed frangible glass ampule that contains a precisely RECESSED PENDENT measured amount of fluid. When heat is absorbed, the liquid within the bulb expands increasing the internal pressure. At the prescribed - temperature the internal pressure within the ampule exceeds the strength of the glass causing the glass to shatter. Product Description The Reliable Model G4A Concealer® uses a proven quick response fusible element in a standard style sprinkler frame with a drop-down deflector. This assembly is recessed into the ceiling and concealed by a flat cover plate. The cover plate and sprinkler cup assemblies are attached using a strong threaded engagerrent. This threaded engagement provides 112" of cover adjustment. The cover plate is attached to the skirt using 135°F ordinary tempera- ture classification solder. When the ceiling temperature rises, the solder holding the cover plate melts, allowing the release of this part and thus exposing the sprinkler inside to the rising ambient temperature. The subsequent fusing of the element opens the waterway and causes the deflectOr to distribute the water. Any secure engagement between the cover plate and cup will assure that the drop-down deflec- tor is properly located below the ceiling.
