SUBJECT: SUMMARY OF SECTION 8 RENTAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM:
This is an information item only to provide the Housing Commission with a brief
overview of the Section 8 Rental Assistance Program.
I. RECOMMENDATION
There is no action required by the Housing Commission on this item. It is provided for
information purposes only.
II. BACKGROUND
Since there may be some Housing Commissioners who are not familiar with the Section 8 Rental
Assistance program operated by the City of Carlsbad Housing Authority, staff will provide a.
brief overview of the program including, but not limited to, information on program eligibility,
application process, amount and types of assistance.
m. SUMMARY
As stated previously, this item is for information purposes only. It is important that the
Commissioners understand how the Section 8 program works and who is eligible to participate
in the program. This information will be helpful as the Commission reviews and takes action on
various items of business related to the Rental Assistance Program.
