A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL
WATER DISTRICT OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPOINTING ONE
MEMBER OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS
TO SERVE AS PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD AND ONE MEMBER TO SERVE AS VICE
PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD FOR A TERM ENDING IN DECEMBER 2024, OR UNTIL A
REPLACEMENT IS APPOINTED
WHEREAS, California Water Code Section 71273 requires that the Board of Directors of the Carlsbad
Municipal Water District appoint one member to serve as President of the Board and one member to serve
as Vice President of the Board; and,
WHEREAS, historically the Mayor of the City of Carlsbad serves as the President of the Board of
Directors and the Mayor Pro Tempore serves as the Vice President of the Carlsbad Municipal Water District.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the Carlsbad Municipal Water District
of the City of Carlsbad, California as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the following Board Member is appointed to serve as President, for a term ending in
December 2024, or until a replacement is appointed:
Keith Blackburn
3. That the following Board Member is appointed to serve as Vice President, for a term ending
in December 2024, or until a replacement is appointed:
Priya Bhat-Patel
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Joint Special Meeting of the Carlsbad Municipal Water District
Board of Directors of the City of Carlsbad, California and the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California on
the 12th day of December, 2023, by the following vote, to wit:
