a. An a1111exatioa to the Clty of Carlsbad with a long narrow corridor
for the purpose of building a drag atrip.
b. In a nuu shaped draw or the beginning of a tributary to the Agua
Hedionda Creek making the topography in such a faahion to help prevent
any noise from traveling horizontally ..
c. Located within the Bight pattern. of Palomar Airport which is adverse
to planning of future residential ue.
2. Applicant has ample laud to warl'aat all needs to help protect adjacent
property against encroachments of noise. health. and welfare hazards.
3.. Staff comments:
ao There baa been concern of the aaes desirable within the fflght
approach of Palomar Airport.and the request for a drag strip can be
compatible.
b. An ambulan.ce shall be on ti. premises and shall be on stand by •
for all eveuts and one driver/or atteDdaat who has a valid first aid license.
c. Some of the conditions necessary to accompany the graatiag of the
conditional nae permit are as follows:
1. The drag strip shall be built to the National Hot Rod Associatioa's
standards and completed before aay events are held~
2., No alcholic beverages shall be permitted on the grouada or
premises of the dragway and spectator ataads; all above areas will be

3. Th.ere will be no jet drags while spectators are in the staada.
4. The required off-street parking ordinance shall be complied with:
such a.a parking for the spectators shall be oae for each five seating, and
improved to the City'• standards. Tbe plans must be submitted to the Eagin•
eertng Departmeat for their approval and built to their standards.
So Before any night meets are laeld, all parking lots. entrances and
pertinences aball be adeqaately lighted as specified by the Engineering Dept.

6. The water •upply aball be a po table water aupply as specified
by San Diego County Health Departmeato
7. Sewer aepttc tanks to be iaatalled and appro•ed by San Diego
County Health Department and shall attach to a •~wer line when theae
facilities are pro_Yided by the City of Carlsbad.
8. WlWa a reasoaa.ble time after an event. tbe premises shall be
policed of rGbbiab or waate material to conform with O1'dinaace No. 50 l 0.
d. That the coll8tractioa pririleaes hereby granted are granted solely
to the owner. his veatee or agent in said construction and these privileges
are not transferable without the expressed couseat of the City Council of
the City of Carl•bad. Upon the date of tbe graatiag of this Coaditional Uae
Permit. the operation and maintenan.ce privileges of said drag strip aball
be for a period of (20) twenty yeara or until October 8,. 1983, and such
operational aad maintenance privileges shall be transferable. At the end
of such 20 year period there shall be ao right or iJl'ivilege accruing to the
applicant by reason of the granting of this conditional use permit. In the
event of any farther application for a conditional use permit for a drag
strip. at the same lo,:ation, subject shall be judged and conside?ed without
regard to the privileges graated herein.o
