REQUESTED ACTION: Consider adoption of a Traffic Safety Commission Resolution of
Commendation for Susan Gardner
BACKGROUND:
On August 7, 2006, Commissioner Susan Gardner was elected as Chairperson of the
Traffic Safety Commission. Ms. Gardner served in that capacity until July 2, 2007.
DATA:
Standard procedure for the Traffic Safety Commission has been to rotate the Chairperson
position on a yearly basis. It has also been the custom of the Traffic Safety Commission
to honor the past Chairperson of the Commission with a Resolution of Commendation.
The attached Resolution of Commendation for Susan Gardner is provided for
Commission consideration.
RECOMMENDATION:
Action to be taken as determined by the Traffic Safety Commission.
NECESSARY CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
No City Council action required.

RESOLUTION OF COMMENDATION OF
Susan Gardner
WHEREAS, Susan Gardner was elected as Chairperson to the
Traffic Safety Commission of the City of Carlsbad, California on August
7, 2006 and served as the Chairperson from September 4, 2006
through July 2, 2007; and
WHEREAS, the Traffic Safety Commission of the City of
Carlsbad wishes to commend Susan Gardner for her leadership as
Chairperson and her earnest and faithful direction and participation in
traffic and pedestrian safety and transportation planning matters that
were brought before the Traffic Safety Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Traffic Safety
Commission of the City of Carlsbad does hereby acknowledge and
extend its grateful appreciation to Susan Gardner for having diligently
served the citizens of Carlsbad as Chairperson of the Traffic Safety
Commission.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of
the Traffic Safety Commission held on the __ day of
