prepared by the City of Carlsbad dated June 23, 2017.
Dear Ms. Kelly:
We have reviewed the city's comments regarding the civil engineering desigr, for parking lot
improvements. We prepared a civil plan review letter dated May 24, 2017, indicating that the plans are
in conformance with the recommendations provided in our geotecimical investigation dated
January 12, 2017. We understand that permeable pavement will be used in the parking lot and that a
liner will not be placed below the base material. This design is acceptable since a perforated subdrain
is incorporated near the bottom of the base material and side cutoff walls will be installed to reduce the
potential for lateral water migration.
